Nicolas Stier a Research Scientist Manager at Facebook Core Data Science. He leads the Business and Operations team which focuses in the areas of (a) Game Theory (Marketplace modeling, Mechanism design, Ads and Auctions), (b) Optimization (Capacity Planning, Network Design), (c) Econometrics, and (d) Operations Management. They have ongoing collaborations with Ads, Infrastructure, Finance, Procurement, Growth, Marketing Science, among others.
Prior to coming to Facebook, Nicolas was an Associate Professor at the Decision, Risk and Operations Division of Columbia Business School and the Business School of Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. He received a Ph.D. degree from the Operations Research Center of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
